Developing Indicators
UNESCO Bangkok, the Commission on Education and Communication (CEC) of the World Conservation Union (IUCN) and Macquarie University (MU) Australia have initiatied the Asia-Pacific DESD Indicators Project, which aims to assist with the monitoring of progress and achievements of the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD) in the region. It provides a set of Guidelines as a practical resource for member states to develop indicators and reporting systems at the national level. Countries are expected to pilot their national ESD indicators and reporting mechanisms in 2008. Read more here
For an example of a national process of developing indicators for ESD, see the work commissioned by the Australian government in partnership with academia here.
